We just had a record month…over 15,000 children learned to reduce their risk of sexual abuse in October with Play it Safe! Our trainers were BUSY going to various schools teaching children they have the right to say NO, and always tell a trusted adult. Want to learn more? We honor our Veterans today… and we know that death is not the only hazard of war. If you know a veteran looking for a job, or needs help emotionally, have them call The Women’s Center.

Wortham Insurance held a fabulous Halloween luncheon for their employees yesterday as part of their United Way of Tarrant County campaign. The Women’s Center was there to speak about the impact their donations make to the community. Wortham has been a sponsor of several Women’s Center events for years. They are great partners.

Our Play It Safe! child sexual abuse prevention program was presented to over 10,200 children in September – ONE CLASSROOM AT A TIME… and we have been constantly booked in October, with November filling up fast. Laura Hilgart, President-CEO of The Women’s Center, was honored last night as one of the 2013 Texas Women of Influence by the Fort Worth Business Press. Two of our board members were also honored: Sue Harvison and Becky Renfro-Borbolla.
